The chemical formula of potassium iodate is KIO3, which is a colorless or white crystalline powder, colorless monoclinic crystal, and the monoacid KIO3.HIO3 and the diacid KIO3.2HIO3 are colorless monoclinic crystals. Odorless.

 

Potassium iodide is soluble in water and potassium iodide aqueous solution, dilute sulfuric acid, insoluble in ethanol and liquid ammonia. Solubility in water: 4.74 grams at 0 degrees and 32.3 grams at 100 degrees.
