Food Grade Tannic Acid CAS No 1401-55-4

Tannic acid is a specific form of tannin, a type of polyp-henol. Its weak acidity (pKa around 6) is due to the numerous p-henol groups in the structure. The chemical formula for commercial tannic acid is often given as C76H52O46, which corresponds with decagalloyl glucose, but in fact it is a mixture of polygalloyl glucoses or polygalloyl quinic acid esters with the number of galloyl moieties per molecule ranging from 2 up to 12 depending on the plant source used to extract the tannic acid. 

In many parts of the world, its uses in food are permitted. Tannic acid is generally recognized as safe for use in baked goods and baking mixes, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, frozen dairy products, soft and hard candy, meat products, and rendered animal fat.

Packing Method:

For small samples quantity <1 kilograms, inside we use double resealable zip bags and outside with aluminium Foil Bags.

For medium quanity 1-25 kilograms, inside we use double resealable zip bags and outside with aluminium Foil Bags, then packed in cartons or small drums for shipping.

For larger quanity >25 kilograms, inside we use double resealable zip bags and outside with aluminium Foil Bags OR bigger size double seal PET bags for 25kgs in bulk then packed in drums for shipping.

Q1: Can I get a sample?
A: We do provide our clients small sample (Sample size from 1-50grams). Free samples can be provided for some products due to the material cost.
