Description (COOLTECH) | Compressed air enters the heat exchanger and is cooled down in the heat exchanger in two stages, first by reheating the exiting air, then by heat exchange to evaporating refrigerant. |
The condensate should be drained as efficiently as possible. Finally the air is reheated by the entering air to be cooled down, thus leaving dried compressed air.
The evaporating refrigerant will extract heat from the air to be cooled. During this process the liquid refrigerant will be evaporating and at the exit of the heat exchanger all refrigerant is in gaseous form.
The sizing of the refrigerant channels should be as such to allow sufficiently high speeds for the refrigerant to make sure that the oil, that is always present in the refrigerant will be carried along to the exit of the heat exchanger along with the refrigerant gas.
