Product Description

HENGDA-MS03, CAS No.  26115-72-0 is a bifunctional organosilane possessing reactive isocyanato and hydrolyzable inorganic methoxy silyl groups.

The dual nature of its reactivity allows HENGDA-MS03 to bind chemically to both inorganic materials (e.g. glass, metals fillers) and organic polymers (e.g. thermosets, thermoplastics, and elastomers), thus functioning as an adhesion promoter and a surface modifier. HENGDA-MS03 is a clear, colorless liquid.

Applications:

1.    It is used for the surface treatment of inorganic fillers and metallic materials, to improve their compatibility or adhesive with organic materials.

2.    It is used to promote adhesion and enhance fillers dispersion in coatings and sealants.

3.    It is used as a tackifier of RTV and enhance the bonding between rubber and substrates.


Reactivity

In the presence of water, the methoxy groups of HENGDA-MS03 hydrolyzes form reactive silanol groups which can bond to a variety of inorganic substrates. The isocyanate group can react with numerous compounds with active hydrogen atoms. 

Examples of suitable inorganic substrates are glass, glass fibers, glass wool, mineral wool, silicic acid, quartz, sand, cristobalite, wollastonite and mica as well as aluminum hydroxide, kaolin, talc, other silicate fillers, metal oxides and metals.



Packaging, storage and shelf life

HENGDA-MS03 is supplied in 25 kg,200 kg drums and 1000kg IBC containers.

The containers must remain tightly sealed during storage and kept in a cool, well aired place. The product should be protected against humidity.

In the unopened container HENGDA-MS03 has a shelf life of min. 6 months from delivery.
