HastelloyX is een superlegering op nikkelbasis met een hoog ijzergehalte, die voornamelijk wordt versterkt door chroom- en molybdeenoplossing. Het heeft een goede weerstand tegen uitharding en corrosie, een gemiddelde uithoudingsvermogen en kruipsterkte onder 900 ºC, en een goede vervormbaarheid en lasprestaties bij koude en warme werkzaamheden. Gebruikt bij de productie van verbrandingskamercomponenten en andere onderdelen met hoge temperatuur voor vliegtuigmotoren, kan het apparaat gedurende lange tijd onder de 900 ºC worden gebruikt en kan werken bij een temperatuur op korte termijn van maximaal 1080 ºC. De belangrijkste soorten producten zijn platen, strips, buizen, staven, smeedstukken, ringonderdelen en precisiegietstukken.
