Generic Name:  Iron Dextran&Vitamin B12 Injection
Composition:  Each ml contain s
Iron (as iron dextran)     200 mg
Vitamin B12, cyanocobalamin 200 ug 
Solvents ad.   1 ml

D escription :
lron dextran is used for prophylaxis and treatment of  anaemia in piglets and calves   caused   by iron deficiency .Parenteral administration of iron has the advantage that the
necessary amount of iron can be administered in one   single dosage. Cyanocobalamin 
is used for prophylaxis and treatment of    anaemia   caused   by cyanocobalamin  d eficiency .
I ndication :
Prophylaxis and treatment of anaemia in calves and piglets.
D osage and Administration :
For intramuscular or subcutaneous administration:
Calves: 2 - 4 m l  subcutaneous, in the first week after birth.
Piglets: 1 ml    intramuscular, 3 days after birth.
C ontraindications :
Administration to animals with vitamin E-deficiency.
Administration to animals with diarrhoea.
Administration in combination with tetracyclines, because of the interaction of iron withtetracyclines.
S ide effect :
Muscle tissue is coloured temporarily by this preparation.
Leaking of    injection fluid can cause a persistent discoloration of skin.
W ithdrawal period : None.
Storage:   Tightly sealed, store   in a cool and dry place,  avoid light.
