Fipronil  is a highly active, broad-spectrum insecticide from the phenyl pyrazole family. It can be used against  major lepidopterous and orthopterous pests on a wide  range of field and horticultural crops and against coleopterous larvae in soil.  It is also employed for cockroach and ant control.

Toxicity :
Acute oral LD50 for male rats is 1680 mg/kg ,for female is 1575 mg/kg.
Acute percutaneous LD50 is more than 2000kg/kg.

Application :
1.Fipronil is used for controlling of multiple species of thrips on a broad range of crops by foliar, soil or seed treatment ;
2. Control of corn rootworm, wireworms and termites by soil treatment in maize ;
3. Control of boll weevil and plant bugs on cotton, diamond back moth on crucifers
4. Foliar application rates range from 10-80 g/ha; soil treatment rates 100-200 g/ha .
5. Fipronil Indicated for the prevention and treatment of infestation by fleas, ticks, mites and lice in cats. It collaborates in the prevention and/or treatment of all the diseases and zoonoses produced and/or transmitted by these parasites.
