Paraffin wax is used to make high fatty acids, high alcohols, matches, candles, waterproof agents, ointments, electrical insulation materials, etc. Paraffin is divided into food grade (food grade and packaging grade, the former is better) and industrial grade, food grade non-toxic, industrial grade not coarse paraffin because of more oil content, mainly used in the manufacture of matches, fiberboard, canvas, etc.Paraffin is a mixture of hydrocarbons extracted from certain distillates of petroleum, shale oil or other bituminous mineral oils. The main components are solid alkanes, odorless, tasteless, white or pale yellow translucent solids. Paraffin wax is amorphous but has a distinct crystal structure. Another artificial paraffin. Paraffin wax is a kind of petroleum processing products, is a kind of mineral wax, is also a kind of petroleum wax.

Crude paraffin is mainly used in the manufacture of matches, fiberboard and canvas due to its high oil content. After adding polyolefin additive to paraffin,its melting point increases, its adhesion and flexibility increase, and it is widely used in the production of moisture-proof and waterproof wrapping paper, cardboard, surface coating of some textiles and candles.
Fully refined paraffin wax and semirefined paraffin wax are widely used in food, oral medicine and some commodities (such as wax paper, crayons, candles, carbon paper) components and packaging materials, baking containers for dressing, fruit preservation, electrical components insulation, improve rubber aging resistance and increase flexibility. It can also be used for oxidation to produce synthetic fatty acids.

It is a flake or acicular crystal obtained by solvent dewaxing, solvent dewaxing, or wax paste made from the lubricating oil fraction obtained by distillation of crude-oil, and then by solvent deoiling and refining. Used for making high grade fatty acids, high grade alcohols, matches, candles, water repellent, ointment, electrical insulation materials, etc. According to the different degree of processing and refining, it can be divided into three kinds: fully refined paraffin, semi-refined paraffin and crude paraffin. Each type of wax according to the melting point, generally every 2ºC, divided into different varieties, such as 52,54,56,58 and so on. Crude paraffin wax has higher oil content, mainly used in the manufacture of matches, fiberboard, canvas and so on.
