Product Description

Two part silicone sealant specially designed for structural glazing .  

Basic Uses
GUIBAO 992 Silicone Structural Glazing Sealant is designed for
  1. Structural bonding and glazing applications for glass curtain walls, aluminium curtain walls, terracotta curtain walls and metal structures
  2. Structural secondary seal of insulating glass
  3. Other construction structural glazing applications
Features
  1. Two parts , neutral cure to form an extremely tough elastomeric rubber ensuring a durable, flexible, and watertight bond
  2. Non-corrosive to metals, coated glass, low-E glass and many other substrates
  3. Excellent weatherability and high resistance to UV radiation ,heat and humidity, and ozone
  4. Excellent stability through wide temperature range from -50 ºC to +150 ºC
  5. High level of mechanical properties
  6. Good compatibility with other neutral silicone sealants
Colours
Part A (base) of GUIBAO 992 is available in white, part B (curing agent) in black; Black colour after mixing.

Packaging
GUIBAO 992 is available in kit: part A in 200L drums (net 190L) ,part B in 20L pails (net 19L).

S torage and Shelf Life
GUIBAO 99 2  should be stored in original unopened   containers. It has a shelf life of 12 months from the date   of manufacture .

Surface Preparation
Clean all joints removing all foreign matter and contaminants such as oil, grease, dust, water, frost, old sealants, surface dirt, or glazing compounds and protective coatings.

Mixing and Dispensing
To obtain the optimal performance of GUIBAO 992, it is recommended that base and curing agent thoroughly mixed using an airless two-part silicone dispensing machine.

GUIBAO 992 should be mixed at a ratio of 9:1~11:1 base to curing agent by volume or 11:1~13:1 base to curing agent by weight.

Priming
Priming is not usually required when using GUIBAO 992. But it is essential that adhesion is tested prior to use to decide whether to use primer or not.

Masking and Tooling
Areas adjacent to joint may be masked to ensure a neat sealant line. Do not allow mask tape to touch clean surfaces to which the silicone sealant is to adhere. Tooling should be completed in one continuous stroke after sealant application. Masking tape should be removed immediately after tooling.

Equipment Cleaning
When not being used, it is recommended that the dispensing equipment be purged either with the base component or flush with suitable solvent.

L imitations  
GUIBAO 992 should not be applied:
  1. To the materials that bleed oils , plasticizers or solvents, such as impregnated wood, oil-based caulks
  2. In totally confined spaces as sealant requires atmospheric moisture for cure
  3. To frost laden or damp surfaces
  4. For continuous water immersion
  5. When surface temperature below 4ºC or over 50ºC
S afety Information  
  1. GUIBAO 992 is a chemical product, not edible, no implantation into body and should be kept away from children.
  2. Cured silicone rubber can be handled without any risk to health.
  3. Should uncured silicone sealant contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical treatment if irritation persists.
  4. Avoid prolonged exposure of skin to uncured silicone sealant.
  5. Good ventilation needed for work and cure places.
