which is obtained by chemical modification of natural cellulose, is a water-soluble cellulose ether. CMC is characterized by odourless, tasteless, and non-toxic with white to off-white powder or granule. It can dissoive in water easily and transfer into colloidal solution, and cannot dissolve in ethanol, etheracetone or other organic solvents.
