Gabions used as cladding can provide an attractive finish to buildings, walls and many other situations. Gabions of 0.3m to 0.5m are generally used and need to be attached to the existing building using clamp bars. At heights of 4 to 5m 4mm dia wire baskets should be used and above this height 5mm dia wire. The baskets are supplied with internal diaphragms dividing the basket into partitions of not more than 700mm square
Unlike hexagonal units, welded wire gabion can hold their shape better they don't bulge out when filled. They are easy to handle, which means more efficiency, less labor and higher productivity on the job.
Welded wire gabion is constructed of rugged high tensile wire which is coated with a thick, corrosion-resistant layer of zinc. The wire is also available with a tough, durable PVC coating. The materials results in a longer gabion life.

Gabions Basket is the gabion which are woven by the hexagonal mesh, the diameter thickness depends on the mesh size, the dia. Is between 2.0mm to 4.0mm if the material is zinc coated, while the dia. Will be 3.0mm to 4.5mm if the material is PVC-coated wire, the selvage wire diameter usually is one gauge thicker than the body wire dia.
