Chemical formula: Bi2S 3 , molecular weight 514.16, directly synthesized from bismuth and sulfur, dark brown powder, density 7.6-7.8g/cm, melting point 685°C.
With great combination between bismuth and sulfur, the Bismuth Sulfide has excellent tribological properties such as environmental friendly, excellent activation, variable wear anti-resistance, low melting point, high resistance and extremely great pressability.
The friction coefficient of Bismuth Sulfide is stable. It is easy to combine with the surface of the brake disc to form a lubricating coating. The lubrication mechanism is mainly as follows: Transfer film is generated on the corresponding object in the mode of interlayer shear, forming a protective layer of different contact surfaces in a wide range of temperature and pressure, reducing friction and preventing wear. The activated temperature of Bismuth Sulfide can reach 600°C, which can effectively cope with a large amount of heat load generated by braking. Compared with M0S2, the friction performance of Bi2Ss, is less affected by humidity and load changes, and the friction coefficient of B12S3 increases slightly with the increase of sliding speed, which can effectively stabilize the friction co-efficiency.
This product has high purity and strong adaptability and it is widely used by a great number of brake pad manufacturers at home and abroad.
