Product Description


High impact polystyrene, also known as HIPS, is a thermoplastic material made from elastomer modified polystyrene. The two-phase system, consisting of a rubber phase and a continuous polystyrene phase, has developed into an important polymer commodity in the world. This universal product has a wide range of impact and processing properties, giving it a wide range of applications. Such as automotive, appliances, electric products, furniture, household appliances, telecommunications, electronics, computers, disposables, pharmaceuticals, packaging and entertainment markets.
 

Polystyrene is one of the oldest commercially produced thermoplastic polymers and has a very versatile product for a wide range of uses. This bright, pure amorphous plastic has the advantages of easy processing, rigidity, size stability and transparency, but the low impact strength limits its application.

High impact polystyrene is a small amount of polybutadiene grafted onto a polystyrene matrix. With "island structure", the matrix is plastic, the dispersed phase is rubber. It has many features:

1. Impact resistant polystyrene is a thermal plastic resin;

2. Odorless, tasteless, hard material, good size stability after forming;

3. Excellent high dielectric insulation;

4. Non-quality low water absorption material;

5. Its gloss is good and easy to be coated.


 LDPE to be laminated very strongly to the HIPS/ styrene roll.   The LDPE film is difficult to remove from HIPS
