Pipeline steel plate is utilized primarily in the production of oil and gas pipelines. In addition to a high compressive strength, the pipeline plate must possess exceptional low-temperature toughness, resistance to hydrogen-induced cracking, resistance to sulfide stress corrosion cracking, and good welding performance.  High-grade steel pipes can be used for natural gas pipelines because their tensile strength and tensile toughness satisfy the various natural gas pipeline indicators. In addition, natural gas pipeline materials, such as steel pipes and cast iron pipes, are more selective and must be selected based on the pipeline laying circumstance. For high-pressure, medium-pressure, and other gas pipelines, steel pipes can be selected, whereas cast iron pipes can be used for low-pressure gas pipelines.
