Propylene carbonate   (often abbreviated   PC ) is an   organic compound   with the formula C 4 H 6 O 3 . It is a cyclic   carbonate ester   derived from   propylene glycol .   This colorless and odorless liquid is useful as a   polar ,   aprotic solvent . [4]   Propylene carbonate is   chiral , but is used as the   racemic mixture   in most contexts.

2. Propylene Carbonate PC can be widely used as a solvent for taking off decarbonation in petrogas, oil filed gas, petroleum
pyrolysis gas as well as feed gas of synthetic ammonia.
3. Propylene Carbonate PC also can be used as a fixation and aids of synthetic fiber; and as a solvent of polymer in macromolecule industry.
