Dexamethason Acetate is an adrenocorticosteroid with more pronounced anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and anti-nausea effects than prednis one, while its effects on sodium retention and promotion of potassium excretion are mild and its pituitary-adrenal suppressive effects are strong. It is a white or off-white crystalline or crystalline powder; odourless and slightly bitter in taste. It is soluble in acet one, dissolved in methan ol or anhydrous ethanol, slightly soluble in ethanol or trichlorometha ne, very slightly soluble in ether and insoluble in water.
