Product Description

Tris (CAS#77-86-1), trimethylaminomethane, also known as aminotriol, ammonium bradykinin. The product is white crystals, easily soluble in water, without irritating odor. Tris is generally known as the second generation of Good's buffer, with better solubility and stability compared to the traditional Good's buffer.Tris is a very important biological buffer and together with Tris HCl is a commonly used buffer salt pair. tris provides a stable, weakly basic environment (7.0-9.1) that is sensitive to temperature and concentration.

Tris bases have an aqueous pH of about 10.5, and buffers of this pH are generally obtained by adding hydrochloric to adjust the pH to the desired value. EDTA is often added to Tris hydrochloric  buffer to make a "TE buffer", which is used for DNA stabilization and storage. If the acid solution used to adjust pH is replaced with acetic acid, a "TAE buffer (Tris/Acetate/EDTA) is obtained, while replacing it with boric acid gives a "TBE buffer" (Tris/Borate/EDTA) which provides a stable pH buffer environment for the reagents.
