SiC ceramic foam filter

Silicon carbide ceramic foam filter is designed for filtering ductile iron, grey iron, and non-ferrous alloy castings. With excellent resistance to attack and corrosion from molten iron liquid, it can effectively remove inclusions in molten metal, and adsorbed impurities, reduce the molten metal in the gas and the harmful element content, decrease the reject rate, and improve the processing performance and mechanical properties of the casting.

Silicon carbide ceramic foam filter is designed for filtering impurities from molten iron & alloy, nodular cast iron castings, grey iron castings and malleable castings, bronze casting, etc. Which have high porosity (80%-90%), high thermal shock resistance, and large specific surface, compared with other traditional filters. It can effectively remove inclusions, reduce trapped gas from liquid metal and provide laminar flow when applied as filter in gating system.

Silicon carbide ceramic foam filter is widely used for molten iron and its alloys filtration in ferrous foundries also adapted to copper, bronze, brass, and other copper alloy filtering, and also applied in high-temperature waste-gas decontamination engineering.


Silicon carbide ceramic foam filter size:
The size  are available in square, round, and custom geometric shapes; sizes ranging from 10mm up to 5 00mm, and thicknesses from 10-50mm. The most common porosities are 10 ppi , 15ppi, 20 ppi, 2 5ppi,30ppi . Custom-required  sizes are possible to be produced.
