Silicon carbide has four main application areas, namely: functional ceramics, advanced refractory materials, abrasives and metallurgical raw materials. Solar photovoltaic industry, semiconductor industry, piezoelectric crystal industry engineering processing materials. Used in semiconductor, lightning rod, circuit components, high temperature applications, UV detector, structural materials, astronomy, disc brake, clutch, diesel particulate filter, fine wire pyrometer, ceramic film, cutting tools, heating elements, nuclear fuel, jewelry, steel, protective gear, catalyst support and other fields.
