Product Description
Dimethyl carbonate, Tech Grade, (CAS #616-38-6, 1,2-Propanediol) is a colorless transparent liquid at room temperature. It is called Dimethyl carbon in English. It has an aromatic smell and a melting point of 4 ºC. Boiling point 90.3 ºC, combustion heat 1427 kj/mol (liquid 20 ºC), vapor pressure 6.27 kPa/20 ºC, Class 3.2 flammable liquid, which can be mixed with alcohol, ketone, ester and other organic melts in any proportion, slightly soluble in water. Dimethyl carbonate is a good methylation agent and carbonylation agent. It is a widely used C-1 chemical raw material, and also an excellent non reactive substance, such as solvent medium for pharmaceutical manufacturing, solvent for special quick drying paint, solvent for spray, etc. It is the ideal substitute for phosgene, dimethyl sulfate, methyl chloroformate and other serious drugs. It is widely used in the synthesis of polycarbonate, diphenyl carbonate, isocyanate, allyl dimethyl alcohol carbonate and carbamate pesticides; it can also be used in special paint, coating, pharmaceutical and other industries; in the battery industry, it can be used as the solvent of lithium battery electrolyte, and is an excellent oxygenated additive for alcohol ether gasoline.
