1, 2-pentanediol is an important organic intermediate , a fungicide for cash crops. It also has excellent moisturizing properties and anti-corrosion effects, and is used in various skin care products such as Chemicalbook skin cream, eye cream, skin lotion, baby care products, sun protection and other products. It is also an important raw material for the production of polyester fiber, surfactant, medicine and other products.

1, 2-pentanediol is an excellent humectant with antibacterial properties, synergies with traditional preservatives and helps to reduce the amount of traditional preservatives used in formulations. In sunscreen products, more helps improve the product's water resistance and ability to dissolve some ingredients. 1, 2-pentanediol helps to stabilize the formula and also reduces the viscosity caused by the addition of polymers.

1, 2-pentanediol is a small molecule humectant. It is a synthetic humectant used as a solvent and preservative in cosmetics and beauty products. It has water-locking and anti-bacterial properties and can improve the water resistance of sunscreen products. However, this ingredient has a slight irritation to the eyes and no irritation to the skin. Glutaryl glycol can be used in Chemicalbook emulsification system, water-based system, anhydrous formula and surfactant washing system, especially in maternal and infant products and non-additive series products. Such as cream, lotion, bath lotion, wet paper towel, toner, shampoo and so on. In addition, glutaryl glycol is also effective in preventing the growth of fungi in wet paper towel products.
