Function:
It is used as a fragrance enhancer in perfumery as it enhances the fragrances of floral types, especially rose. Because of its aroma and flavor, it is used in cosmetics soaps, shampoos, moisturizers, skin and hair care products, colognes, shaving creams, after shave lotion and bath products. It is used in beverages for its flavor. Citronellol has antimicrobial, antifungal, antispasmodic and anticonvulsant activities.
 
Application:
It is the base aroma of rose essence, also commonly used to add sweet flower fragrance, such as used in lilac, lilac, Osmanthus, etc. It is a variety of heavy and flower fragrant spices, often mixed with fragrant leaf oil, geraniol, benzyl alcohol to form the rose base. It can also be used for edible flavoring such as roses, strawberries, raspberries, citrus fruits and peaches.
