There has been numerous criteria globally to quantify the performance of body armors.The most recognized standard is NIJ level . The higher a body armor ranks,the better it protects the user. Note that a  A-modified rank doesn't mean better,on the contrary, it means slightly weaker.

There are generally two kinds of plates: SA plates and ICW plates.SA plates suffice to hold back bullets alone while ICW plates are tested together with ballistic vests to trade off for a lightweight property .
